This painting is a study in “green” and atmospheric perspective. Adding purple with green is a color combination that works well for the cool side of the valley. Using this combination against the warm greens on the sunlight side allows me to explore color harmony in a way I don’t usually try. These small studies are essential in helping me produce more significant work. There’s nothing more peaceful than hiking in the California Hills.
